When you reach, check in at Ndali lodge or Primates Lodge.

Kibale national park has the highest concentration of primates in East Africa including chimps, black and white Colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and baboons. Go for an afternoon primate walk to Kanyanchu river camp, the most popular walk in the park. It highlights a miscellany of flora and fauna within the forest. Return to Ndali Lodge/Primates Lodge.

There are other primates in the area like the golden monkey, L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black Colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey, red Colobus, blue monkeys, and pottos. Other animals involve forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs, and striking tree species.

After breakfast traverses the scenic Kigezi highlands to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is another major tourist stopover that is undeniably amazing. The word Bunyonyi means “small birds” in direct translation which means that the lake is a must-stopover for committed birders besides that its serpentine shape and numerous islands are other highlights one must look out for. When you reach a canoe ride, check out several islands like Bwama Island good for birders or you could take a nature walk helping you to appreciate a variety of small birds. Dine and sleep over at Arcadia Cottages (luxury) / Bunyonyi Overland Camp (budget) FB

After breakfast, you will set off for a walk to the bara camp. The climb will take you across desolate scree slopes with no vegetation around. it’s a tough steep walk made more difficult by the altitude. on arriving at the camp you eat and spend the afternoon resting as you prepare for a long night and day ahead. You must keep hydrated and warm. Have your dinner and try to get some sleep as you will be getting up at midnight to start the climb to the summit.
